Budding Consultant:15 th September 2017
The TechnoCase Budding Consultant (Case Study-Poster) Competition held every year for the past 6 years has been a huge
success for Post Graduate Students.
Application of Conceptual knowledge, Technical Know-How, Creative IT enabled solutions has been the take away for participants
and IT Experts who judge this state level competition.
The Participants should prepare posters which will showcase technical solution proposed as per the problem statement.
The Problem statement should be based on the Theme of the competition
THEME: Smart Solutions for Smart Cities
What is Smart City? The first question is what is meant by a ‘smart city’. The answer is, there is no universally accepted definition of a smart city.
The conceptualisation of Smart City varies from city to city, depending on the level of development, willingness to change and reform,
resources and aspirations of the city residents.
Some definitional boundaries are required to guide developers in this Mission. In the imagination of any city dweller in India, the picture of a smart city contains a wish list of infrastructure and services that describes his or her level of aspiration.
A smart city is an urban development vision to integrate information and communication technology (ICT) and Internet of things (IoT) technology in a secure fashion to manage a city's assets. These assets include local departments' information systems,
schools, libraries, transportation systems, hospitals, power plants, water supply networks, waste management, law enforcement, and other community services. A smart city is promoted to use urban informatics and technology to improve the efficiency of services.
i. You need to identify an Indian City & Problems faced by this city. This would be your Problem Statement.
ii. Then you need to provide a Smart Solution (IT enabled) for the problem faced and depict this solution in the poster using various technical diagrams.
